Objectives
- To perform an effective role in the field of dentistry to improve the community dental health.
- To provide dental therapist/technologist status and recognition in the dental care delivery system through improving their capability and increasing awareness of their responsibilities.
- To assist maxillofacial surgeons during surgeries.
- To perform effective role in delivering the conservative treatment for the primary teeth.
- To enable the Dental Technologists to fabricate prosthodontic appliances, crown and bridges, orthodontic appliances and surgical splints etc.
- To provide primary dental care services to the community.
- To enable the Dental Technologist performs the exodontia of primary teeth and simple permanent teeth.
- To enable the Dental Technologist performs the routine conservative treatment of permanent teeth.
- To provide platform to conduct research in their respective field pursuance of excellence.
Merit List Policy:
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of following:
F.Sc 70% + Entry Test 30%
Outcomes
- Develop accuracy and meticulousness to attain high levels of ethics and technical proficiency.
- Access the technical and non-technical skills in a standardized and reproducible environment
- Strengthen the decision power and exercise appropriate judgment skills, to be applied especially and during crisis.
- Develop good leadership, problem solving and administrative skills.
- Develop and analyze innovative strategies for effective communication with the patient and the health care personnel.
- Demonstrate inter disciplinary team building strategies or effective co-ordination between various allied health disciplines.
- Demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts of professional behaviors and legal implementations of work environment.
- Demonstrate the knowledge of his/her role in health care delivery system.
- Establish and maintain continuing education as a faction of growth and maintenance of professional competence.
- Candidates with F.Sc (Pre-Medical / Dental Hygiene) or A- Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply.
- Candidates with Diploma in relevant field with at least 45% marks in annual system or 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 in semester system dully registered by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Faculty with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad are eligible to apply.
Following is a list of scholarships we offer:
Free Education Program from Workers Welfare Fund for industrial workers and their children.
20% Concession in Tuition Fee on Kinship basis.
20% Concession in Tuition Fee for all Female Students.
50% Concession in Admission fee and 20% Concession in Tuition fee in all programs for SUIT Graduates.
50% Concession in Tuition Fee for Children of Shuhada of Armed Forces / Police.
15% Concession in tuition Fee for Armed Forces / Police Personnel/Government School & College Teachers & their Children.
10% Concession in Tuition Fee for erstwhile FATA Agencies Domicile Holders.
Note:
- The scholarships will be subjected to in-time fee submission as per University Policy.
- Total scholarships will not exceed 50% of the tuition fee.
