Program Objectives:
- To develop a strong foundational knowledge in anatomy of Eye, physiology, biochemistry and pathology of Eye specifically related to Optometry & refraction technology
- To equip the students with practical skills in the use of equipment specific to Optometry & refraction technology.
- To promote critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through case studies, simulations and clinical rotations in healthcare outlets
- To enhance students’ understanding of professional and ethical standards in Optometry & refraction technology emphasizing patient safety, quality assurance and effective communication within the healthcare system.Â
- To prepare students for leadership roles and continuous professional development in the field of Optometry & Refraction. The program also focuses on ocular therapeutics, including participation in research and analysis, preventive health education and advocacy in the community.
Program Outcomes:
- Graduates will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Optometry & Refraction including its anatomy, physiology and pathology. Â
- Graduates will demonstrate proficiency in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting of the equipment related to Optometry & Refraction ensuring optimal patient care
- Graduates will apply evidence-based practices and critical thinking skills to effectively manage and respond to the clinical challenges in the field of Optometry & Refraction
- Graduates will adhere to the highest ethical standards demonstrating professionalism, effective communication, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care in the community.
- Â Graduates will be play leadership roles in Optometry & Refraction, engaging in continuous learning, research and professional development for advancement in the field and improved patient outcome
Merit List Policy:
- The merit list will be prepared on the basis of following: Fsc 70% + Entry Test 30%
- Candidates with F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or A-Levels with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply.
- Candidates with Diploma in relevant field with at least 45% marks in annual system or 2.00 CGPA on the scale of 4.00 in semester system duly registered with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Faculty with equivalency certificate from IBCC Islamabad are eligible to apply.Â
- Candidates will have to appear in an entry test to be conducted by any registered Testing Agency or University.Â
- Candidates will appear in an interview to be conducted by the University
Following is a list of scholarships we offer:
Free Education Program from Workers Welfare Fund for industrial workers and their children.
20% Concession in Tuition Fee on Kinship basis.
20% Concession in Tuition Fee for all Female Students.
50% Concession in Admission fee and 20% Concession in Tuition fee in all programs for SUIT Graduates.
50% Concession in Tuition Fee for Children of Shuhada of Armed Forces / Police.
15% Concession in tuition Fee for Armed Forces / Police Personnel/Government School & College Teachers & their Children.
10% Concession in Tuition Fee for erstwhile FATA Agencies Domicile Holders.
Note:
- The scholarships will be subjected to in-time fee submission as per University Policy.
- Total scholarships will not exceed 50% of the tuition fee.
